Etsy Social Media Scheduling: Plan Listings on FB & Instagram
Most Etsy shops post when they remember to. A 4-week schedule that rotates bestsellers, new listings and seasonal items fixes that in about an hour a month.

Etsy social media scheduling is less about the tool and more about the plan. Most Etsy sellers already know they should post listings to Facebook and Instagram. What goes wrong is the rhythm: three posts in the week a new collection drops, then nothing for a month while you’re busy packing orders. A schedule decided once a month, with the posts queued ahead, is what keeps a shop visible while you’re doing the actual work of making and shipping things.
This guide is the scheduling playbook: how many listings to post per week, which listings to post, a sample 4-week calendar you can copy, and the tools that let you queue it all in advance, starting with the ones that cost nothing. If you want the broader picture of automation options for Etsy shops, we covered that in Etsy social media automation for product posts.
What Etsy Gives You (and What It Doesn’t)
Before building a schedule, it helps to know what Etsy itself offers, because it shapes how much of this you’ll do by hand.
- Share buttons and the social media tool. From Shop Manager or the Etsy Seller app you can share a listing to social networks. It’s a “share now” action, not a scheduler: you post it the moment you tap. Sellers regularly report that direct sharing to Instagram from the app is unreliable, so many end up copying the listing URL and posting manually.
- Share & Save. Etsy’s Share & Save program refunds 4% of the order total from your fees when a buyer purchases through your unique shop link within 30 days of clicking it, per Etsy’s program terms. The link has to be shared outside Etsy (social profiles, email, your own site). It’s worth putting your Share & Save link in your Instagram bio and Facebook Page About section.
- No Instagram product tagging for Etsy. As of September 2026, third-party guides and seller reports agree Etsy is not a supported partner in Meta Commerce Manager, so you can’t tag Etsy listings in Instagram posts the way Shopify stores can. Your posts send people to Etsy through your bio link, a caption mention of the shop name, or a link in a Facebook post.
- A possible cap on Facebook link posts. As of September 2026, Meta is limiting some Facebook Pages to two link posts a month unless they subscribe to Meta One for Business, an expansion of a test that started in December 2025 (per Social Media Today, 17 September 2026). Not every Page has it yet. If yours shows the limit, lead Facebook posts with the product and your shop name, and save links for the posts that matter most.
The takeaway: Etsy doesn’t schedule anything for you. You need either Meta’s own scheduler or a separate tool, plus a plan for what to post.
How Many Etsy Listings to Post Per Week
For most small Etsy shops, 3 to 5 product posts a week on each of Facebook and Instagram is the sustainable range. That’s enough that your Page and profile look active to anyone who checks them before buying, and low enough that you won’t burn through a 40-listing shop in two weeks.
A rough guide by shop size:
| Active listings | Posts per week (each platform) | How long before a listing repeats |
|---|---|---|
| Under 25 | 3 | About 8 weeks |
| 25 to 100 | 4 to 5 | 5 to 20 weeks |
| 100+ | 5 to 7 | Several months |
Repeating a listing is fine. Your followers don’t see every post, and a photo that sold well in March will sell again in June with a fresh caption. We go deeper on frequency in how many times to post a product per day, but for Etsy shops the answer is usually “less than once a day, every week without gaps.”
What to Post: The Bestseller / New / Seasonal Rotation
The easiest way to avoid staring at your shop wondering what to post is to give every slot a job. Three buckets cover almost every Etsy shop:
- Bestsellers (about 40% of slots). Your top listings by sales or favorites in Shop Manager stats. They have proven photos and proven demand, so they’re the safest posts you have.
- New listings (about 30%). Anything added in the last 30 days. New work tells returning followers the shop is alive, and it’s how you test whether a new listing has legs outside Etsy search.
- Seasonal or occasion items (about 30%). Whatever the calendar is pulling toward: Halloween in October, gifts from November through mid-December, Valentine’s in late January and early February, Mother’s Day in late April.
If you have fewer than five new listings a month, shift those slots to bestsellers. If it’s peak gifting season, let seasonal take half the slots.
A Sample 4-Week Etsy Posting Calendar
Here’s a 4-posts-a-week plan (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) for a shop heading into October. Swap in your own listings. Post the same listing to Facebook and Instagram, but write the captions slightly differently: Instagram gets more hashtags and “link in bio”, Facebook gets a direct listing link where your Page allows it (see the link-post note above).
| Week | Mon | Wed | Fri | Sun |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bestseller #1 | New listing | Seasonal (fall) | Bestseller #2 |
| 2 | Bestseller #3 | Seasonal (Halloween) | New listing | Bestseller #1 (new caption) |
| 3 | Seasonal (Halloween) | Bestseller #4 | New listing | Seasonal (early gift) |
| 4 | Bestseller #2 (new caption) | Seasonal (gift) | Bestseller #5 | New listing |
Three rules keep this working:
- Batch it once a month. Pick all 16 listings in one sitting, write the captions, queue them. An hour a month beats ten minutes a day because you only have to decide once.
- Don’t post the same listing twice in one week. Give each repeat at least two weeks.
- Leave one slot a week flexible if you often run sales or restocks, so a time-sensitive post doesn’t break the whole queue.
For timing, general 2026 studies point to weekday late mornings and early afternoons for retail on Facebook, but your own audience beats any study. We cover how to find your actual peak hours in the best times to post products on social media.
Caption Template for Etsy Listings
A short, repeatable caption structure saves more time than any tool. Use it for both platforms and adjust the ending:
[What it is, in plain words] + [one detail that makes it yours: material, size, how it's made]
[Who it's for or when they'd use it]
[Price or "made to order, ships in X days"]
Instagram: Shop link in bio (search [Shop Name] on Etsy)
Facebook: [Etsy listing URL, if your Page isn't link-capped; otherwise "search [Shop Name] on Etsy"]
#[3 to 8 niche hashtags]
Example: “Hand-thrown stoneware mug, 12 oz, glazed in our speckled oat finish. Big enough for a proper latte, small enough to hold with one hand. $34, ships in 3 days. Link in bio. #handmademug #stonewaremug #pottery”
For handmade shops specifically, the handmade auto-posting guide covers which details buyers respond to in captions.
Tools for Scheduling Etsy Posts
Meta Business Suite (no cost)
Meta Business Suite schedules posts to your Facebook Page and Instagram professional account from one composer. You upload the photo (save it from your listing), write the caption, pick a date and time. Meta’s help documentation has long stated a scheduling window of up to 75 days, but as of September 2026 many Page owners report the Facebook side only lets them schedule roughly 29 to 30 days out, so plan month by month. The Instagram app itself also has a built-in scheduler: as of March 2026 it’s open to all public accounts, up to 75 days ahead and 25 posts a day (SocialBu’s 2026 guide).
The catch is the manual work per post: download the listing photo, crop it, write the caption, paste the link. For 16 posts a month that’s easily two to three hours.
General schedulers (Buffer, Later and others)
These give you a nicer calendar and sometimes a queue with preset time slots, but the content work is the same: you still save photos and write every caption. They make sense if you also post to networks outside Meta.
LzyPost (batch from listing URLs)
If saving photos and writing captions is the part that stops you, LzyPost does that part: paste an Etsy listing URL, it pulls the product photos and writes the caption in the style you pick (Casual, Sales push, Elegant or Informative), you review or edit it, and it posts to your Facebook Page and Instagram on the days you picked. You schedule posts ahead and see them all in a calendar view, so the 4-week calendar above becomes one sitting of pasting 16 URLs and approving captions.
One thing to know if your Page is under Meta’s link cap: LzyPost includes the listing link in the body of every Facebook post, so each one counts toward your monthly link allowance (2 without Meta One). If you’re capped, use it for the Facebook posts where the link matters most (new listings, sales, restocks), lean on Instagram for the rest of the volume, and fill other Facebook slots with native photo posts from Meta Business Suite.
To be clear about how it works with Etsy: there’s no Etsy API connection or shop sync. It reads the listing page from the URL you paste, the same way it works with any store. It posts to Facebook Pages and Instagram business or creator accounts linked to a Facebook Page only, so no Pinterest, TikTok or X. If Pinterest is a big traffic source for your shop, you’ll need a separate tool for that. The Etsy to Instagram scheduler and Etsy to Facebook scheduler pages walk through the setup.
| Meta Business Suite | General scheduler | LzyPost | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost (Sept 2026) | No cost | Varies by tool and channel | $30/mo for 2 pages |
| Pulls the listing photo for you | No | No | Yes, from the listing URL |
| Writes captions | No (you write them) | AI assist on some plans | Yes, you review and edit |
| Networks | Facebook, Instagram | Many | Facebook Pages, Instagram only |
| Etsy API connection | No | Varies | No, works from pasted URLs |
Who Should Just Use Meta’s Scheduler
Stick with Meta Business Suite if you post fewer than about 8 listings a month, you enjoy writing captions, or you’re still testing whether social brings Etsy sales at all. It costs nothing and does the scheduling part fine. A paid tool only earns its fee when the per-post work (photos, captions, links) is what’s keeping you from posting consistently.
The Bottom Line
A good Etsy social media schedule is 3 to 5 posts a week per platform, rotating bestsellers, new listings and seasonal items, planned once a month and queued ahead. Meta’s free scheduler handles the queue if you’re willing to do the per-post work yourself. If you’d rather paste listing URLs and approve captions, automate your store’s Facebook and Instagram posts with LzyPost. It’s $30/month flat for 2 pages ($60 for 10), and you can cancel anytime.
FAQ
Can you schedule Etsy listings to post on Instagram?
Not from Etsy itself. Etsy’s share tools post immediately. To schedule, use Meta Business Suite or the Instagram app’s built-in scheduler (both no cost), a general social scheduler, or a tool like LzyPost that builds the post from your pasted listing URL and publishes it on the days you set.
How often should an Etsy shop post on Facebook and Instagram?
For most small shops, 3 to 5 product posts per week on each platform is sustainable and keeps your profiles looking active. Consistency matters more than volume: four posts every week beats fifteen posts in one week followed by silence.
Can I tag Etsy products in Instagram posts?
As of September 2026, no. Etsy isn’t a supported partner in Meta Commerce Manager, so Etsy listings can’t be tagged as shoppable products on Instagram. Use your bio link (ideally your Share & Save link), mention your shop name, and link listings in Facebook posts if your Page isn’t under Meta’s link-post cap.
Does posting Etsy listings on social media help Etsy search ranking?
Etsy doesn’t publish that outside traffic boosts search ranking, so don’t count on it. The direct benefits are sales from your own followers and, through Share & Save, a 4% fee refund on qualifying orders that came from your link.
How far ahead can I schedule posts in Meta Business Suite?
Meta’s documentation cites up to 75 days, but as of September 2026 many Page owners report a Facebook scheduling limit closer to 29 or 30 days. Planning one month at a time avoids hitting the limit either way.
